Correlation of turbidity with Indian Remote Sensing Satellite - 1 A data

چکیده
Remote sensing applications in hydrology are becoming more and more widespread. Choubey (1992) describes an interesting application in surface water hydrology: the correlation of turbidity in the surface water of a reservoir with remote sensing data. Choubey's paper discusses the first application of this type with the Indian Remote Sensing Satellite-1A (IRS-1A). The multispectral digital data cover the Tawa reservoir region. Water samples were collected concurrent with the satellite overpass. Good correlation is found between the turbidity and suspended solids on the one hand, and the satellite recorded pixel values on the other hand. Choubey follows the same procedure as Khorram & Cheshire (1985). This procedure is certainly sufficient for a feasibility study, and this is the important merit of Choubey's paper, but it does not lead to reproducible results that can be applied to other satellite images. In this discussion, additional image processing techniques and the consequences for Choubey's results are investigated. The techniques are performed on the mean pixel values as they appear in the original paper.

Asphalt Pavement Performance Model of Airport Using Microwave Remote Sensing Satellite
The purpose of this study is to build the binary logit model of an airport pavement that could monitor the pavement condition in near real time using microwave remote sensing satellite, then the relationship between the international roughness index (IRI) of an airport and backscattering values from PALSAR images of the ALOS satellite was determined. Total 390 data were used in analysis. This m...

Traditional methods of field measurement of soil moisture in addition to the difficulty, the need for manpower and money and fail to take place on a large scale to be able to show moisture. Therefore, remote sensing has become a widespread use .Landsat 8 satellite data and Sentinel-1 radar satellite from Tehran were provided. 72 soil samples were taken at the same time by satellite passing from...
متن کاملIntroducing Satellite Remote Sensing Systems and its Application in Archaeology Case Study: Behshahr Plain- Mazandaran
Human groups have considered the Behshahr plain of Mazandaran in the past Due to its particular geographical shape, location between the Caspian Sea and mountains, and the existence of some rivers in the region. However, our knowledge of this area is limited to several published surveys and archaeological investigation of its ancient sites. No detailed research has conducted on the formation of...

The research used the satellite image (Landsat 7 ETM ) within the thermal infrared sixth band (TIR6) and geographic information system (GIS) to determine the air pollution and its relationship with the land cover (LC) and land use (LU) of Baghdad city. Concentration of total suspended particles (TSP), lead (Pb), carbon oxides (CO, CO2), and sulphur dioxide (SO2) were obtained from 22 ground mea...
متن کاملMapping Spatial Variability of Soil Salinity Using Remote Sensing Data and Geostatistical Analysis: A Case of Shadegan, Khuzestan
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
